In Japan, after the continuous rainfall, the sky has finally cleared up and the sun is beginning to shine through.
It's about time the cherry blossoms started budding, and I can't help but look at the branches of cherry blossoms. Exciting.
Speaking of which, I had yellowtail simmered with daikon radish at a restaurant I visited the other day. Of course, I took a photo for you.
This dish is a delicious meal in the cold season and is one of Japan's traditional dishes that has been passed down since the Edo period.
That is a humble home-cooked meal, and yellowtail, known as the "career fish," is considered auspicious and is also served as a dish on festive occasions such as New Year's.
Oh, yes. "Career fish" is also a unique expression in Japan. For example, the yellowtail I ate this time changes its name as it grows.
The name changes from "wakashi" to "inada" to "warasa" to "buri".
Since "career"or "advancement" is considered auspicious, in some parts of Japan, there is a custom called "Yomeburi," where the bride's family sends a yellowtail fish to the groom's family as a gift in the year of their marriage.
The receiving family then returns half of the fish to the bride's family in a tradition known as "Hanmi Gaeshi."
Come to think of it, I mentioned that I want to define "compassionate love" into three points last time, but actually, "love" also advances.
In other words, there are stages of development in love as well.
Just like career fish, love also grows, and its form changes over time. So, even though we say "love" in one word, there are various stages to it.
Let me quote a bit from our book again. First, let's start with the third definition.
I believe that love embodies progress and advancement. When you think of your love for others, do not be self-content with small achievements.
love for others, do not be self-content with small achievements.
Continue to discover your wonderful self, and strive to create something more wonderful in
your relationships with others.
could be explained as taking limitless interest in your fellow human beings.
The common characteristic of successful people is their infinite interest in others. The reverse is equally true that people who show little interest in understanding others don’t have true `compassionate love`.
to see something wonderful in yourself, will you be able to use the same kindness to see others and love them for what they truly are.
